New College and the Institute of Technology was delighted to act as a Festival Partner for the third annual Festival of Tomorrow.
This exciting and innovative event incorporated a virtual Schools' programme and culminated in a two-day exhibition which took place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th February. The exhibition consisted of spectacular shows, hands on family workshops and incredible exhibitors with the latest discoveries and questions about the world of tomorrow. Over 3000 visitors attended the event.
New College's stand included representatives from science, computing, art and design, business and health; all intent on showcasing elements of the innovative teaching and learning that takes place. Practical activities that were very popular with younger visitors included: the science of sherbert-making; programming electronics with an arduino board; trying your hand at e-sports; working on a princess pleater to create design fabrics; and mirror drawing.
Amanda Walton, Head of Marketing said:
"The College educates the scientists, tech experts and entrepreneurs of the future, so it was great to be involved as a Festival partner for what is fast becoming the science and tech event in the region. Our stand was really busy with many people wanting to try their hand at the activities on offer and the whole event was really well-organised with a lot of inspirational speakers and exhibitors."
