About the course
Higher Nationals are level 4 and 5 qualifications – equivalent to a foundation degree or the first two years of a full degree. They are vocational courses with an emphasis on ‘learning by doing’; focusing on the skills and knowledge needed for a particular industry.
This course in ceramics has been designed to help students discover the creative art of working with clay and how to use this unique material for design purposes.
As well as developing creative experience in studio ceramics, the programme helps students acquire the necessary skills for self-employment.
Through a series of innovative projects, learners experiment with 3D design techniques and broaden their craft. The programme has appropriate work spaces for a range of ceramic projects and is run over two set days. Students will have access to our purpose-built ceramic design studios.
This course can be studied full-time or part-time over 24 months.
