Health and Social Care FdSc
Primarily aimed at Health and Social Care workers, this highly flexible Level 5 Foundation Degree course will develop your knowledge and skills. It is open to people who are qualified and keen to explore new aspects of care â specifically for Assistant and Associate Practitioners, as well as Team Leaders.
The content of the course is varied and split across two years. You will have the opportunity to apply theory and new understanding to your own practice, developing yourself as a health and care professional.

Year 2

This is a full-time equivalent programme. You will attend college one day a week but will be expected to study and prepare for assessments in your own time.
A variety of assessment methods will be used, including essays, reports, reflective accounts, case studies and the production of educational resources.
Entry requirements
You will need 3 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above plus one of the following:
Level 3 BTEC, NVQ or other appropriate vocational qualification.
IELTS score of 6.5 overall (minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing) for those applicants where English is not their first language.
A DBS check
Future career and study opportunities
On successful completion of this course you may wish to progress to a Level 6 Honours Degree in Health and Social Care. Alternatively, you could take a further year of specialist study via our innovative Student Designed Award.
If you wish to apply for a Nursing degree, you may be considered for direct entry onto Year Two of the Oxford Brookes Nursing Programme. Other career options open to you include a team leader or assistant practitioner within your current (or a new) setting.
