About the course

If you have a flair for computer science and all that is digital and have completed A Levels, a Level 3 BTEC, or subject related work experience and excel with applied learning, then this dynamic, stimulating and engaging new programme is for you.

Aimed at computing and digital technology professionals or practitioners, of all ages, the programme focuses on the key components of cyber security, networking, digital strategy and software development.

Course content includes: Programming; Networking; Professional Practice; Database Design & Development; Security; Planning a Computing Project; Computing Research Project; Business Process Support; Software Development Cycles.

Students will have access to our state of the art computer suites on campus. This course is full-time studied over 24 months.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs incl. English, 9-4 (A*-C). Alternative equivalency testing may be undertaken plus 48 UCAS points from at least one of the following:

  • 2 A Levels at grade A-D (one of which should be computing/IT related)
  • Vocational - Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in a related subject
  • Access Diploma - Level 3 Access Diploma in Computing

Mature applicants without formal academic qualifications, but with evidence of sufficient, relevant industrial experience will be considered. You will also be required to attend an interview with the Course Leader.

Following completion of this course you can choose to 'top-up' to an honours degree at university or enter employment.
