About the course

Students on our Engineering Professional courses will benefit from modules created by industry specialists to align with the needs of employers in the engineering sectors. This level 4 programme will extend the knowledge of those already working in a variety of roles within the engineering sector.

In the first year, all students will study four units and, in the second year, students will focus on their chosen subject pathway.

Topics in year one include: Engineering Maths; Engineering Science; Quality and Process Improvement; Electrical Systems and Fault Finding.

Topics in year two include: Engineering Design; CAD for Maintenance Engineers; Electrical and Electronic Principles; Managing a Professional Engineering Project.

This course is studied Part-Time for 24 months.

You will be provided with details of the assignment requirements for each Unit. Students will be encouraged to engage with personal and professional development, gaining formative feedback on progress towards Unit outcomes, and developing knowledge and competence in the discipline.

Students will evidence their progress through written academic essays and reports, or practical activities, which will vary according to each individual Unit assessment requirements. Each Unit will carry more than one assessment task in order to meet the learning outcomes and criteria for the Unit as a whole.
