Educational Practice FdA

Educational Practice FdA

This is a work-based foundation degree for people already working in an educational setting and who are keen to progress their careers.

If you are a teaching or classroom assistant, this programme will enable you to gain a higher education qualification and, if you desire, progress onto a full degree and advance your career in this sector.

On this course, you will develop your professional skills through working with peers, sharing best practice and participating in group and class discussions. You will extend your knowledge while planning and supporting pupil interventions.

Whilst studying technology in learning, developing literacy and mathematics, supporting individual needs and the research project, you will extend your knowledge and skills, whilst planning and supporting pupil interventions in their educational environments. Throughout the course, you will be supported by module and personal tutors, ensuring you get the very most out of your studies.

This is a full-time equivalent programme. You will attend college for face-to-face teaching once a week and carry out work and assessment preparation in your own time. Through our excellent links with local employers, you will develop your professional knowledge, gaining a full understanding of current policies and procedures in the education sector.

Assessment on the programme is through module tasks/assignments, which include essays, research proposals and reports, seminars and presentations. There are no formal written exams on this programme.

For 2024-25 the programme is undergoing a revalidation which may result in a change of module titles and content. Information will be published as soon as it becomes available.
