This is a full-time equivalent programme, the expected attendance for teaching and assessment in college is one day a week (Tuesdays 9:00am-5:30pm), however students will be expected to carry out work and assessment preparation in their own time.
This course offers a range of subjects aimed at the caring professions and education practice sector. Through the study of this course, students will be able to enhance their professional practice which will provide opportunities for career development. It is important that your employer supports your training needs. However, the degree can be successfully completed if you are in a voluntary role.

Applicants should have at least two years’ experience of working or volunteering in an educational setting prior to commencing the course, and the setting must be willing to support their training needs. As part of the entry requirements students are also required to have a DBS check. All applicants will be required to attend an interview at the College.

Following successful completion of the Honours degree, candidates intending to apply for Primary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes should note that they will require GCSE Grade C (4) or above in English, Maths and Science at the point of application. (If progressing on to Secondary ITT or in the Further Education section, Science is not a stipulated requirement for entry).
