Religious Studies A Level

Religious Studies A Level

You don’t need to be religious to study this subject. You just need an open mind and be prepared to ask more questions than you will find answers to!

On this course you will explore deeper questions about God, ethics and the meaning of life. You will study three elements over the two years including: Religion (Christianity) – exploring Christian beliefs & practices; Philosophy & Religion - studying arguments used to prove the existence of God; and Religion and Ethics - studying theories about what is right and wrong.

You will develop your writing and analytical skills and take part in interesting and thought-provoking discussions in class.

You will study the course for 4.5 hours a week in the first year and 5 hours a week in the second year. You should expect to spend an additional 4.5 hours per week on homework and private study. Mock exams are held during the first year, but do not count towards the final A Level. Exams for the whole A level are held in May or June of the second year.
